The Maker
Origin Story
Auxiliary Manufacturing is the work of Michael Jarvis; a self-taught bladesmith who spent 15 years in kitchens before trading the line for the bench. After running restaurants from dishwasher to executive chef to GM, he started making pocket tools as a hobby. The hobby became an obsession. The obsession became a business. Named after the Auxiliary Art Center in Chicago where it all started, and built on the idea that "auxiliary" means the backup that shows up when the big guys can't. We set up shop in Reno in 2016 and haven't looked back.
